We did an ICU for a client in Camberwell a few years back, a beautiful established garden that had been let go for about eighteen months. The transformation was dramatic, and they were thrilled. They decided not to go onto monthly maintenance. When I drove past twelve months later, it was right back where it started. The weeds had reseeded from the existing soil bank within weeks. The freshly shaped lilly pillies had pushed out in every direction. The mulch had broken down to almost nothing.
That's why we designed our clean-up service as the entry point to ongoing monthly care. The ICU brings your garden to baseline; monthly maintenance keeps it there and steadily improves it. We now only take on clients who want our monthly program. After the initial reset and mulching it usually takes about 12 months to have the garden aligned to the seasons and our mulch working deep into the soil.
